Who boycott Allah's mosques,1 wherein
His name is mentioned, those whose strife,2
Is only for their ruin?
Such persons cannot even enter
These places but in constant terror;
Disgrace they shall be meeting in this life,
And awful scourge in the Hereafter.
115.. To God belong both East and West,
Whiche'er direction you are facing,
There is the Face of God, for God's
All-Knowing, All-Embracing.
116. Some also say: "God has a son adopted!"
He is above such things, He's too exalted;
Whatever is there in the heavens,
And on the earth, to Him belongs,
Obedient to Him are all things;
117. Originator of the heavens,
And earth is He;
When He decrees a thing,
He merely says unto it: "Be!"
And it's already Being.
118. And those who have no knowledge say: "If only
Allah to us would speak, or else a token3
Would come to us!" In fact, similar kinds
Of statements were by those before them spoken;
Similar are their hearts and minds!
Surely to those with faiths unshaken,
1. Places of worship.
2. Zealous effort.
3. A sign, a miracle
