Fazlollah Nikayin, The Quran; The First Poetic Translation (2000)
Say: Vile indeed is what your faith,
Enjoins you to, if you have faith!
94. Say: If the Final Home with God, has been
Reserved for you alone, and it's the truth
You speak, then you must long for death!
95. But they will never long for it, because,
Many a sin they have sent forth;
And God the men of evil actions knows.
96. Indeed you'll find that they, of all mankind,
Are the most covetous for life, and more
Covetous than the pagans; every one
Of them desires that he'll be living for
A thousand years, but even such long life,
By no means could remove the Retribution,
From them, for God's the Keenest Seer
Into their every action.
97. Declare: "Whoever is an enemy
To Gabriel: who has, by God's permission,
Into your heart revealed this, which is only,
Of what was sent before, a confirmation,
And Guidance and glad tidings for believers,
98. "Whoever is to God a foe,
Unto His angels or His messengers
To Gabriel or Michael, lo!
It's God Who is the foe to disbelievers."
99. Surely We have to you sent down,
