90. Miserable is indeed the price,
For which they sell their souls:
To disbelieve what God sends down,
Out of sheer grudge that God reveals,
It, of His Grace, on whomsoever,
Amongst His servants, as He wills!
Wrath upon wrath have they thus drawn,
Upon themselves; an ignominious
Torment awaits the disbelievers!
91. When they are told: "You shall believe in
What Allah has revealed", they say:
"Our faith is only in what unto us
Has been revealed", and they deny,
Everything sent thereafter, even if
It is the Truth confirming what
They have already got!
Ask them "if that's the case, then why
Did you murder God's messengers?"
92. And surely Moses came to you,
With miracles profound,
But, in his absence, lo, you found,
The calf for worshipping, indeed,
Transgressing every bound!
93. Behold, We made with you a covenant,
And did above you raise the Mount,
Saying: "Hold Firmly unto what
We have unto you granted and obey".
They said: "we hear, and disobey!"
So they were made to drink the calf
Thoroughly, for their unbelief;
