Ali Quli Qarai, The Qur’ān with a Phrase-by-Phrase English Translation (2005)

They said, ‘We will worship your God,
and the God of your fathers,
Abraham, Ishmael, and Isaac,
the One God, and to Him do we submit.’

134 That was a nation that has passed:
for it there will be what it has earned,
and for you there will be what you have earned,
and you will not be questioned
about what they used to do.

135 And they say, ‘Be either Jews or Christians,
that you may be [rightly] guided.’
Say, ‘Rather [we will follow] the creed of Abraham,
a ḥanīf,
and he was not one of the polytheists.’
136 Say, ‘We have faith in Allah,
and that which has been sent down to us,
and that which was sent down to Abraham,
Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob
and the Tribes,1
and that which Moses and Jesus were given,
and that which the prophets were given
from their Lord;
we make no distinction between any of them,
and to Him do we submit.’
137 So if they believe in the like of what you believe in,
then they are certainly guided;

1 That is, the twelve tribes of the Israelites, who received the revelations through the prophets that were sent to them. Cf. 2:140; 3:84; 4:163.
