but as good news for you, and that your hearts might be at ease thereby, and victory is only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.

126. That He may cut off a portion from among those who disbelieve, or abase them so that they should return disappointed of attaining what they desired.

127. You have no concern in the affair whether He turns to them (mercifully) or chastises them, for surely they are unjust.

128. And whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is Allah’s; He forgives whom He pleases and chastises whom He pleases; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

Section 14

129. O you who believe! do not devour usury, making it double and redouble, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, that you may be successful.

130. And guard yourselves against the fire which has been prepared for the unbelievers.

131. And obey Allah and the Apostle, that you may be shown mercy.

132. And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord, and a Garden, the extensiveness of which is (as) the heavens and the earth; it is prepared for those who guard (against evil).

left this strong position in order to loot the enemy property, The enemy turned back upon the Muslima who were now in disorder and had lost their naturally fortified position. The Muslims suffered heavy losses and Hamza, the uncle of the Prophet, was killed and the Holy Prophet himself was injured. However, the Muslims rallied round the Holy Prophet and Ali beat back the enemy, who turned back and fled; the battle was neither won nor lost.
