136. Say: "We believe in God and what is sent,
Down unto us, and what has been sent down
To Abraham, to Ishmael, to Isaac,
To Jacob and the Tribes, and what was given
To Moses, and to Jesus and whatever,
Was given to the Prophets from their Lord;
And we make no distinction ever,
Between one of them and another,
We totally submit to Allah."
137. Now if they do believe as you believe,
They'll be on the right course, but if they leave,
The faith aside, it's they who are in schism,
And then Allah suffices you against them,
For he's the Hearer, the All-Knower.
138. This 1 is indeed God's Baptism,
And who is surely better than
God, to baptise? Thus Him,
Do we worship alone.
139. Say: will you be disputing with us
Concerning God? When He is both
Our Lord and your own Lord! And we
Shall answer for our deeds in truth,
And you shall answer yours indeed;
And we remain to Him sincere in faith.
140. Will you allege: "Verily Abraham
Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes
Were Jews? Or Christians?" And do ask them:
