God thus surrounds the disbelievers;
20. The lightning almost takes away their sight,
Where'er it flashes on them, they move forward,
And when it darkens, they don't move; if God
So pleased, He could have certainly deprived
Them of their hearing and their sight, for God
Is the Omnipotent.
21. O Men! Worship your Lord: the One
Who brought you into being,
As well as those before you, thus you can
Become upright, godfearing.
22. He is the One who made the earth a cushion,
For you and made the sky your canopy,
And rain He sent down from the heavens,
To bring forth fruits for your provisions;
Therefore you should not set up idols
To rival God, now that you have the ken.
23. And if you doubt what We send down
Unto Our servant, then produce
One sura 1 like it, and do call upon
The idols you set up, instead of God,
If you are truthful men.
24. But if you fail, and you are sure to fail,
Then fear the Fire of which the fuel,
Is human flesh and stone, prepared,
