Ali Quli Qarai, The Qur’ān with a Phrase-by-Phrase English Translation (2005)
110 Whoever commits evil or wrongs himself
and then pleads to Allah for forgiveness,
will find Allah all-forgiving, all-merciful.
111 And whoever commits a sin,
commits it only against himself;
and Allah is all-knowing, all-wise.
112 But someone who commits an iniquity or sin
and then accuses an innocent person of it,
is indeed guilty of calumny and a flagrant sin.
113 Were it not for Allah’s grace and His mercy on you,
a group of them were bent on leading you astray;
but they do not mislead anyone except themselves,
and they cannot do you any harm.
Allah has sent down to you the Book and wisdom,
and He has taught you what you did not know,
and great is Allah’s grace upon you.
114 There is no good in much of their secret talks,
excepting him who enjoins charity
or what is right
or reconciliation between people,
and whoever does that, seeking Allah’s pleasure,
soon We shall give him a great reward.
115 But whoever defies the Apostle,
after the guidance has become manifest to him,
and follows a way other than that of the faithful,
We shall abandon him to his devices
and We shall make him enter hell,
and it is an evil destination.
