Supplication on Completing the Recitation of the Holy Quran

(Part of Supplication No. 42, from Sahifa Sajjadiyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

O Allah, I just completed reciting what Y ou Have decided to be of your Book which You have sent down to your truthful prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to your cause. All praise belongs to Y ou, O our Lord. O Allah, make me of those who maintain as lawful what it (al-Quran) has made lawful and as unlawful what it (al-Quran) has declared unlawful, and of those who believe in its verses of clear as well as identical compositions. O Lord, make it a comforting companion for me in my grave as well as when I will be resurrected. Make me of those who climb up higher for reading a verse thereof one degree, among the ones of high exalted positions. Amen, O Lord, Please grant my wishes, O cherisher of the worlds.
